Partial view on elements

The "active-hidden"-button marks whether an example or factor is included in the analysis. Hidden variants or factors remain excluded from calculations of relevance.
Filters for restricting the view on the example base simplify editing the examples. The menue item "view" serves to select a partial view on the active examples, on hidden examples or an all examples. Moreover, it is possible to select a partial view only on active factors or on hidden factors. Selfevidently, it is possible to select viewing all factors.
The same way the analyst can choose to restrict the view on successful examples or on inacceptable examples. Deactivating this filter leads to the presentation of all variants.
Both filters change the selection of shown alternatives or factors. These filters do not influence the processing of alternatives or factors. For example, the analyst may choose to view only hidden examples and hidden factors. These can be seen in the program window. The importance calculated by the program refers to those examples and factors not seen in the window yet.
A third filter determines the values seen in the program window. During analysis the analyst enters more and more names of examples and factors. In the beginning, there are no values assigned to each factor when it comes to describe specific examples. Instead of these values a question mark is shown. Stepwise the analyst replaces each question mark with a value. In the end, no more question marks can be found in the example base. To enable looking for remaining question marks in the example base, the analyst can select the submenue item "Undefined values" in the menue item "view". This shows only those cells of the example base that are not filled with values. On the other hand, it is possible to have a partial view on those values already defined. Switching this filter off shows all entries.
The status line at the bottom of the program window displays the filters selected by the analyst.
